MekTek Vengeance and BK Map Conversions

If you are being directed here by a server either
1) You don't have the latest version of the map you are trying to play, so you need to download and install according to the directions or
2) You HAVE the latest version of the map, but the server you are trying to join does not. Contact the server admin and recommend that they upgrade.

4/10/03 - NEW - Polar Tundra Installation Instructions - NEW

Step 1: Install the necessary mission files from MekTek. Download PolarTundra.exe (1.36 MB) and execute it following the instructions. This program will install the necessary files to run the Polar Tundra map in your Mercenaries installation.

Step 2: There are TWO ways to get this terrain installed:

a) Download the polar.mw4 file (25 MB) and copy it into your Mercenaries resource/maps folder.

- OR -

b) Download the patch files ( polar_patch.zip) (22K), unzip and read the instructions . This method requires that you have a Vengeance CD or installation available.

Note: The terrain was updated to fix the problem with textures "popping in and out". If you are having this problem, then you need to make sure that you install the latest version of this terrain file polar.mw4.

Vengeance Map Pack 1.1 Quick Installation Instructions:

Step 1: Install the necessary mission files from MekTek. Download VMapPack.exe (7.46 MB) and execute it following the instructions. This program will install the necessary files to run the map pack into your Mercenaries installation. UPDATED 4/21/03 to fix CTF issues.

Step 2: Install the necessary terrain files from MW4:Vengeance. The best way to do this is to download VTerrain.exe (0.99 MB) and execute it following the instructions. This program will copy files from a current Vengeance installation on your computer, Disc 2 from MW4:Vengeance, or any directory you specify to your Mercenaries resource/maps folder.

Note: IF you don't have Vengeance, click on the "Required Terrain Files" links below to download the required terrain. These files should be placed in your Mercs/resource/maps folder. However, keep in mind these are big files (up to 25 MB), and you shouldn't download them unless you don't have access to the terrain files otherwise!

Note - IMPORTANT: Also, some users have reported problems with the patcher and validator not launching properly during install. So, after installation, run the md5chk-veng.bat in your mercs/resource/maps folder to verify your terrain installation.

Black Knight Map Pack 1.0 Quick Installation Instructions:

Step 1: Install the necessary mission files from MekTek. Download BKMapPack.exe (6.06 MB) and execute it following the instructions. This program will install the necessary files to run the map pack into your Mercenaries installation. UPDATED 4/21/03 to fix CTF issues.

Step 2: Install the necessary terrain files from MW4:Black Knight. To do this download BKTerrain.exe (1.07 MB) and execute it following the instructions. This program will copy files from a current Black Knight installation on your computer, the MW4:Black Knight CD, or any directory you specify to your Mercenaries resource/maps folder.

Note: IF you don't have BK, click on the links below to download the required terrain. You MUST first copy these files to a temporary folder. DO NOT placed in your Mercs/resource/maps folder. Rather, you must run the BK Terrain installer and specify the temporary folder as the source of the terrain files. The terrain installer will copy the files to your Mercs/resource/maps folder and then apply the rquired patch in order for these terrains to work in Mercs! Also, keep in mind these are big files (up to 25 MB), and you shouldn't download them unless you don't have access to the terrain files otherwise!

You don't need to download the "Required Terrain Files" if you already have them on your CDs or harddrive. These links are provided for those that do not have any of these older games. The missions require that these files be present in your mercs/resource/maps folder to play, or you will get the dreaded "Insert Disc 2" error.
