I tried over and over 3rd PV and, in the best conditions, can use it for about 20-30 seconds, max. In the cockpit is where I get my MW kick....=)

Not that MW4 was ever really a sim game though, I guess.

If you want to play like just a game, fine. But if you're actually looking for an experience, piloting a mech, simulation, realistic feel, etc. first person man. No one drives a mech floating in the air looking above hills from cover. No one drvies a car floating up in the air. But then, most racing games are stupid and give a bumper view instead of 1st person. bleh.

I've always wondered how the hell ppl see me over cover in online games. I'll be behind a hill, or they will, but somehow they know exactly where I am. I guess i didn't know how popular 3rd person was. I might have to swtich to 3rd person when playing online.

Say what you want. But I'm a 1st person guy, I like the experience (I got steel battalion, afterall), so anyone using 3rd person is like using an exploit, cause i'm using a realistic view, battlling like a real mechwarrior, while the 3rd person ppls are using 3rd person to get an edge and look over hills, peek over cover..... in a sense it IS a sanctioned cheat or exploit. It's an unfair advantage over others.

I prefer the 1st person. 3rd is to disorienting for me if I move or try and shoot. I like the feel of being in the Mech.

hehe, sorry, I shall honor the truce now. Just a rude awakening when you realize how pl have been getting unfair advantages over you. No wonder I die so fast online. Let's see if 3rd person makes me servivie longer....mabye i'm not as much of a noob as I thought.....

That's easily explained by the fact that most players that still actually play this game either don't post here or have been banned. The amount of ppl playing online in 3rd and 1st person are a much reliable number source than a poll mostly voted by ppl who don't play the game, play it once per year, or play the game on their minds and a tabletop board.

And about the thread itself, I've said it many times, and will say it again:
If you truly believe that the 90º POV this game provides as "FFP" is an accurate reflection of real life's first person view (hence, "sim"), then you seriously need to visit an ophthalmologist to address your field of view issues.

People who believe that more than 90º POV the game provides in 3rd POV is an accurate reflection of real life's first person view (hence, "realism"), then these people seriously need to visit a brain surgeon to address their line of thinking.

So your line of sight is limited by 90º? Understood.

i started playing this game about 3-4 months ago, using the 1st person view. after the first 2 weeks of getting my ************ handed to me by ppl using 3rd person view, i just had to switch to at least try to keep it even (or realatively so, in view of my green status). 3rd person perspective still pisses me off sometimes, and i'm not quite ready for a balls to the wall (r.e., heat, ammo, 1st person view) style of play, so it seems easier to follow the rest of the herd...
