We here at MekTek coudl really use all your help in putting together a manual for the new release.

To that end we would like artful Screenshots of mechs, any and all the mechs looking cool.

THey should be centered on the page and in various terrain, with good lighting, with antialias and quality of the screenshot being of utmost importance. Preferably at highest resolution you play at.

If we judge your screen to be the best, then we'll put it in the manual (manual will be a printready pdf formatted for booklet and or perfect bound book).

I'll be making final decisions (as I'm the one doing the formatting). This is your chance for a little bit of fame!

Well maybe not fame, but we'll include your screenname in the thanks section of the manual.

Again, this is for EVERY mech, not just MekTek mechs. We'd like to make an updated and comprehensive manual covering the game completely. Thanks.

That's not a MP mech and is not going to go into the manual (sorry, no HC mechs).




You know, one way to get good screen shots it to run around in a battlearmor so you can get a good full view from the ground of mechs (avoidng the camera angle cutoff which, BTW, I plan on dealing with).

Another way might be to jump over them and look down for an interesting angle. Definitely a must on the privateer chassis.

What I do when I need mech screen shots is set up a server and fill it with bots and use the camera ship.

Hot damn GRFX, those pics are excellent. Knights Hammer's green/red one is sweet. So are Chaos' Shadowcat, Solaris Cougar, and Hellbringer (Clan names FTW) shots.

Yeah, that's something to ask, can the Clan 'mechs have their proper names restored? Timberwolf, Mad Dog, Warhawk, Adder, etc?

Excellent GRFX JarheadEd, those are exactly the kind of shots I want! Good lighting, mech fills a large part of the screen.

Nope, those are the Clan names, had a big discussion on the MWLL boards about them

Yeah, the Deimos is awesomesauce 6xCUAC5 or 4xHVAC5, 2xCUAC2 is fun to do, if not awesomely effective (it's not bad though).

More pics Was damn lucky to get that Kit Fox shot, it died a second later How do you guys get them centred so well? I can only get them towards the bottom of the screen.

Renaming the 'Mechs is more of an annoyance than anything else. It's one preference over another in the end. So, no, they wont likely ever be changed in MW4.

I guessed as much. I'm still going to annoy people by using Clan names though Hurrah for Timberwolf.

Nice, although the texture looks off.

I'm using the camera ship in a hosted multiplayer session, Alt H to remove the text, and using the controllable view. That puts a text box in the upper left corner that is removed using Photo shop. I insure that the text box is in the sky to make it easier to get rid of. The Marauder is using the Taiga Winter camo scheme. I'm not happy with the left arm being over the torso, making it a bit hard to see, but it's the best I can do right now.




As for the texture being off,...I don't know. There is some craptasticness in the top left of the photo where I clone stamped the box out, other than that, it's a vanilla shot.

Wow, just realized I've been here 7 years, and doubled my post count in the last week.

I tried to do a better one of the thor, just don't have time remove the chatbox yet. Red planet is my favorite map but the lighting isn't very good for getting detailed screens...are they too dark?

The skin was some desert camo I think, didn't put any thought in it, just wanted something other than default. Whatever you choose tends to look red on that map anyway lol.

I did press alt-h, thing doesn't disappear unless you're looking at a human player I think...anyway, keep up the ownage as usual

You have to be in spectator mode in the camera ship to get rid of the chat box, the other mode won't get rid of it.

True that, but then you have no control of camera angle.

IMO it's easier to get rid of the box than fight the autocamera.

I need to bump my graphics some but here is an action photo... I do not know how to include the thumbnail. Could just a "how to" post gouge (crib note).

Yea that's me for sure, was from friday hehe.

That little mech in the background of the first shot got behind the comms after I killed the anni, so the clops is trying to take it out. Of course I was shutdown from the splash and impatiently waiting to start up again lol.
