I was wondering if MP4 includes the High Def Patch or if the current HDP is compatible with MP4. Or did you guys totally redo everything for MP4 so a HDP is not needed.

Sounds great, it'll keep the number of downloads to a minimum once MP4 is released.

Yeh unlikely at this point there will be HDP for MP4, but what ive been thinking of doing making a 'mega' tek available for anyone whos interested of the HDP content that i contributed to it, (various mech skins, Clan and IS dash, Cockpit internals, Radar HUD) etc.

Good idea. I made a custom dash/hud that I could give you if you wanted. I was also considering doing some better sounds for the game if I get the the time.

With MP4 we have more stuff to customize with the hud heheh.

Its a shame that there will be no HDP for MP4, the HDP will be sadly missed, got used to Mekteks paks and the HDP going hand in hand.

By using certain tools I'm almost 100% sure you can put all the HDP content manually into MP4. It would just take longer than using a ready made patcher.

If all of the Tek files will work with MP4 ten why not just create a new installer?

Though, admittedly, I have no clue if there's more to it than just changing a couple values for version compatability.

I don't think there'd be any need for a new HDTP to have additional content - I'd be more than thrilled with just MP4 compatability. Maybe that means tons and tons of work in and of itself - in which case I can certainly understand hesitation from mechstorm to throw another one together.

I will try to make a patch for MP4 which will be based on patch for MP3.0.2b. The only problem is time. I know how to do it, but my job kills me, you know.

Well it takes a long time to take all the content from the patch and create it as a giant tek file. Not really sure what you mean by installer.

A big tek file may be better in the end though, since people could edit the file to take out any stuff from the HDP they don't like, but keep what they do like.

Mostly correct there i believe, although as i remember the hdp hud files were of a larger size and im not sure about them...

Most ppl cant 'do it themselves' as far as adding hdp content so DruidChicken thats a nice idea there, im sure some would like that (u2 zLobster)

You would have to look into the textures.mw4 file of an HDP patched game, find the textures/sounds you liked, take them out, and replace the MP4 textures/sounds with them.

What you need is mw4extractor. Not sure if discussions about using it are allowed, so I won't get into that.
