Just wondering how the new stealth armour will work in MP4.

From what ive gathered, the more you mount, the smaller your radar signature will be.

The question is:

A ) How actually will this effect enemy radar? Will you it mean the enemy mech will have to be closer to the stealth mech in order to detect it?

B ) Will shooting/using jump jets and any other actions cause you to show up on enemy radar like it did with ECM?

It doesn't now. If you mean with MP4, then I don't see why not.

Thermal sensors use heat to detect stuff. Stealth armor only affects radio waves, not heat output. I could be wrong with respect to the game though.

Afaik in cbt stealth armor also reduces the heatsignature. the heat that is build up by walking and shooting is channeled to the feet of the stealthequiped mech. thats why heatdissapation is very ineffective when stealth is activated. at least thats the way it is in cbt iirc.

Also, I don't think it's confirmed yet that thermal sensors will be in. Last I heard on them was Jeho saying he might look into doing it.

Thanks for the posts, anyone know about how the signature reduction will work though?

You guys dont hang about do ya, about a week ago you were saying that you would still have to add that, cool, fancy going into my work and getting through the product testing ive still got to do for a client? lol

Well, damn. That's what I get for thinking that jeho mentioning he might do something equates to anything other than "KEKEKE CODE RUSH".

You guys rock.

I think stealth armor in CBT reduced both radar and heat signature. It would close up the heat sink vents to mask the heat signature at the expense of greater heat buildup. The general strategy would be to engage stealth armor at long range where it is the most useful, then at close range, turn it off so that full heat efficiency could be taken advantage off when brawling it out.

You have to activate it. when you do, heat builds up. the hotter you are - the thermal sensor catches you easier. so if you want to ninja someone, pack heatsinks.

and yes, it means you'll have to be closer to someone to spot him on radar smile.gif

Ah ok. Thanks a lot everyone, I believe thats about it. smile.gif
