Full Version: katapult fix?

Has anything been done to the katapult to give it a bit of a boost? It's a great mech but very underplayed. I remember some time ago there were several people who would have liked to see the katapult get a few extra tons myself included. Anything happen to that effect?

katapult - 65t
wildcat - 75t

wildcat >> katapult
catapult >> katapult
longbow/archer/yeoman >> catapult

Yes anything over 65t >> katapult. I'm not saying make it on par with the wildcat. It could just use a couple extra tons for sinks or speed.

I used the katapult a few times. It's good, it's just overlooked because there are many other mechs to choose from that look nicer.

I haven't tried brawling, but it's very good at sniping - similar to the tenchi in that area.

I think it looks cool. It doesn't really brawl, more like snipe at 500m.

Also Lrd mr MC don't you run the heavy gear 2 online group?

Real great mech game, but there doesn't seem to be too many remaining active players.

The zero gravity maps are pure awesomeness. Too bad they're ruled by heavy pulse lasers...I was making a balance patch to fix that, but I didn't see many people play so I lost interest. If you want the modding tools I can send them to you, I already sent them to someone else who was interested.

I would also like to do a remake of heavy gear 2, similar to what assault tech is doing, but with the workload that I have now and am likely to have in the future, I'm doubting that will happen. Still, I know a modeler who has been turning out some sweet gear models, so I guess anything is possible.

The Katapult is fine. The raised arms give it a very good advantage in sniping.
