I downloaded the patch and both mektek downloads. I cannot get them to install.

Fresh install of MW 4 MERCS 50.7.1.2105
Winpatch 1.3
1. Download and install Microsofts PR1 patch located HERE. (about 5mb)
2. Download and install MekTeks PR1-MP3.02a patch located HERE. (about 283mb)
3. Download and install MekTeks MP3.02a-3.02b patch located HERE. (about 15mb)
I downloaded all three.
Do not understand where to put the files after extracting using winrar or how to get the winpatch to recognize which file it should be updating.
When I click on WPapply and select mekpak302a(pr1).wnp it says the file passes checking but then the folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Mechwarrior Mercenaries does not exist.

So there is still no way to unlock the Microsoft clan and IS mekpacks without finding that software?
Nope, you'll have to buy them to get at keys suitable for online play.
IIRC, both Clan and IS 'Mechpacks use the same set of keys, though, so you theoretically only need one to install both packs on your machine.
I don't even think MS would complain, since they are long out of print...

this statement is horribly wrong.
There are 2 legit ways of getting the M$ IS/Clan paks to work.
1) Install your M$ paks and apply the fix
2) Download and install the NBT-HardCore mod. Comes with all 8 M$ mechs but you will have to use the HardCore Mod to use it.
And of course, thanks to the wonders of the Internet, there are the two shady ways. Wouldnt normally suggest it, but lets face it, its an ancient game. Its hardly going to hurt the developers/M$ financially if someone whats to download an add-on that should really be abandonware by now.
