Wey, nice promo pic!

Map looks good from the pic also, I'll be grabbing this one smile.gif
The Overlord
Ash, can we take this to mean you plan to crank out some more maps? (crossing fingers) image
Ash

Lion Heart
HEH I like that last image.
The Overlord
Good to hear Ash, those look quite promising. Despite the whole WTC thing, I think those ruined skyscraper culturals are cool as hell.
Solarmech
Looking very good! sm

Liberation begins this week. MW4Online has the release candidate and is just waiting for the jump-ship to warm up image

Is it the same terrain as the original Battleline? I really liked the map, but it was a little "spiky"!

Those sunken buildings were, well, interesting, but my 'mech never got on well with them. tongue.gif

I thought the terrain texture needed just a little lightening up too, pretty dark, even on daytime settings.

Just my 2c worth though smile.gif

Gloomy is good, Battleline had a definite mood to it. image
RedRaven
Yes, Battleline was definitely atmospheric. I liked it, it was my favourite out ofthe earlier maps.

Bring it on!
The Overlord
Still am pretty favorable to Testing Grounds myself. image

Alright Ash, now you’ve gone and done it. Outside of the co-op missions, this might be your best work yet!
Censors be damned…Battlefront kicks total royal ************.

The original version of this map was good, and it was gloomy and desolate…bad atmosphere in a good way. But where Battleline looked like a desolate planet somewhere in the Inner Sphere or Periphery, Battlefront totally changes the nature of this terrain.
Now I get the feeling that I am standing on the outskirts of a major urban area…that just got the living snot pounded out of it. I mean damage on a huge scale, such as tac nukes or orbital bombardment.
This map puts Rubble to shame. The natural cracks and ravines now become impact craters, only more threatening with the buildings sunken into them. The numerous smoke plumes indicate whatever cataclysm happened here was very recent.
The falling ash from the volcanic maps seems to enhance the extreme level of damage in the region.
While Battleline was just gloomy, the night version of this map is almost scary, sort of like the background to a post-apocalyptic movie set.
The choice of the night urban sky was a very good one; because I’m standing amid burning ruins and not a living city, it suggests even bigger fires and devastation over the horizon, lighting the sky up.

If anyone here hasn’t tried it yet, turn the weather on and play the night version of this map, then go wander through the ruins with your searchlight on…************ spooky….Stephen King couldn’t have set a better backdrop.

I give you an A for effort on this remake, and an A+ for Atmosphere…I love this map. image
