Im new to MEK TEK, i was wondering if there is a way to make all the mechs work with the campaigns, im pretty turned off by multiplayer, everyone just uses assault mechs with Long Range lasers and what not, which is kewl but not my style. I would love to play through the campaign with all these new mechs, it makes it very interesting.

Just do a search in th MW4 Mercs forum...
Basically you can get some of them.
By buying all of certain mechs and reselling them back and buying then again.

Ugh... You know, I typed this up and saved it knowing it'd be asked again.
It works like this. Mektek mechs use ID's of other mechs (when in game look at your own damage display, you will see an original microsoft mech). For example, the annihilator uses the Sunder.
Now, when a mechs name is alphabetically BEFORE the name of the mech it's borrowing from it is accessible. So, Annihilator (A) comes before Sunder (S), therefore you can get it. The process works like this:
Go to the market. If you see the mech for sale (in our example, the sunder) then buy all of that mech (expensive, eh?). Leave the market, then go back to the market. Now, sell back as many sunders as you want. You may notice the price to buy them back once you've sold them will be different. You can now buy sunders, which will in fact appear in your mechlabs as annihilators!

Thankyou, i hope they decided to implement a way for them to be more active in this next patch, its would be nice to have more mechs available in the campaign.

To get them into single player we would need the source code from Microsoft and we don't have that so its not going to happen.

To elaborate; you will be able to get them in the same way only.

It really bothers me that microsoft released mw4 mercs with such a poor list of mechs for there game let alone not even some of the right mechs that go along with the battles. I here theres a battletech game coming out using the BATTLEFIELD 2 ENGINE. I hope they add enough mechs. These new mw4 games have all been alike. I wish they could get back to the mechs they used in mw2 mercs, such a good game.

To be honest with their limited slot system (sure it makes the game somewhat better in some ways) there's not that many mechs they could have added without making it repetetive. And of course, people would be less likely to fork out for the mechpacks if the original playable number was, say, double.

I seem to remember a member of this forum managed a... "hack" I guess... that got all the Mektek mechs working in campain... but I also believe that du to the request of MekTek themselves he never released it.....

News to me.
You can, of course, use instant action.

Don't get your hopes up. Most likely there is no such "hack".

It was fireslave who did that. Unfortunately, he canceled the idea and never publicly released it due to the wishes of Mektek and the possible security holes it would introduce. He also mentioned that anyone who tries to PM him about it will have an admin notified about it for a possible ban.

I doubt the hack would work with MP3 anyways, as its going to be encrypted. (HC on the other hand....)

Why would you get banned for that though, and how is opening up the mechs to use in the freemarket a hack? I would think that is why all these mechs were created for in the first place, besides the multiplayer benefits. I really hope the next mechwarrior installement has more mechs. Between Mw4 and Mechcommander, its such a lackluster assortment of mechs. I lose interest so quickly, go back to Mw2 Mercs and Battletech 2 Crescent Hawks Revenege, your given such a pimp array of mechs to use.

Odds are the method (if it existed) would have lead to other breaches of the mekpak security.

Not that I'm going to bug fireslave about this, since I don't want to get banned, but why doesn't he just give J2K a copy of his hack and in one of the subsequent patches to MP3 like MP3.1a MT can include it after they've had a chance to check out all of the potential security problems.
